Charlotte Hornets Hire Celtics Assistant Charles Lee as Head Coach

Charles Lee, the assistant coach of the Boston Celtics, was officially named the new head coach of the Charlotte Hornets. Lee has been an assistant coach in the NBA for ten years; he most recently helped the Celtics win this season.

“We are thrilled to have Charles Lee join us… Jeff Peterson of the Hornets stated, “His strong moral fiber and… ability to connect with players will serve us well.”

Lee, who will make his official debut following Boston’s postseason run, conveyed his own excitement, saying, “Being the head coach of the Charlotte Hornets is an incredible chance… Regarding our future, I’m enthusiastic.”

Reviving a Hornets team that hasn’t won a playoff series in 22 years will be Lee’s challenge. Key players like LaMelo Ball have had injuries in recent seasons, which has affected the team. But Lee has a solid base to work with thanks to Ball’s talent and rookie Brandon Miller’s promise.

The Hornets have a 13.3% chance of winning the first choice in the NBA Draft Lottery on Sunday, which increases the likelihood that the roster will be reorganized.
