The Heritage and Legacy
The Chicago Bears hold a unique position in professional football, having secured nine NFL championships, including the decisive 1985 season that culminated in a dominant 46-10 victory over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XX. This edition captures the essence of that storied lineage, referencing the defensive grit established by George Halas and the legendary roster that defined the 1980s. Players move across a board that honors the team’s evolution, highlighting the transition from the Decatur Staleys to the powerhouse that defined the NFC North.
Design elements utilize the classic navy blue and burnt orange color palette that has remained a staple of the franchise identity since 1920. The custom tokens represent the physical history of the team, ranging from the iconic helmet silhouette to the stadium architecture of Soldier Field. Each property space on the board replaces traditional real estate with significant team milestones, allowing participants to acquire historical assets that mirror the growth of the franchise over the last century.
Care and Longevity Guide
Maintain the integrity of the game board by storing it in a climate-controlled environment, away from direct sunlight to prevent fading of the navy blue pigments. Use a dry, lint-free microfiber cloth to remove dust from the surface. Avoid liquid cleaners or abrasive sponges, as these can compromise the matte finish and the structural composition of the cardstock.
The zinc-alloy tokens are durable, yet they benefit from being kept in the provided velvet-lined compartments to prevent surface scratches. When playing, place the board on a flat, stable surface to ensure the longevity of the folding hinges. Proper organization of the currency and property cards within the box inserts will prevent bending and edge wear over years of repeated use.
Does this edition include custom player tokens?
Yes, the set includes six unique, custom-sculpted zinc-alloy tokens representing iconic Chicago Bears symbols and memorabilia.
Are the property spaces based on real Chicago locations?
The property spaces are themed around Chicago Bears history, including legendary players, championship years, and the team’s home stadiums.
Is this game suitable for younger fans?
The game follows standard Monopoly rules and is recommended for ages 8 and up due to small parts and the complexity of the gameplay.
Can I use standard Monopoly money with this set?
While the dimensions are similar, this set includes custom-designed currency featuring Bears branding, which is intended to be used for the full thematic experience.
