Take your favorite Inquisitor along on The Veilguard, the newest Dragon Age adventure! However, expect some shocks along the road.
Thedas, Inquisitor, Is Waiting!
With the arrival of Dragon Age: The Veilguard, players are thrown into a brand-new journey full of danger, intrigue, and well-known characters. You can rejoin with your Inquisitor from Dragon Age: Inquisition, but you’ll also be taking on the role of Davrin Rook, a new protagonist. However, it’s not as simple as you might expect to introduce your personalized hero into The Veilguard. No Easy Import
Regretfully, you cannot import your Inquisitor’s exact appearance from Inquisition via a magic button. Despite the ten-year lag between games, the developers chose not to add a straight import feature, and The Veilguard uses a brand-new character creation. This means you’ll need to recreate your Inquisitor manually.
The Customization Process
Recreating your Inquisitor in The Veilguard involves a few key steps:
- Start a New Game: Begin a new game and resist the urge to import a character right away.
- Navigate to “Past Adventures”: Go to the “Finalize” menu and select “Past Adventures: The Inquisition.”
- Edit Inquisitor: Choose “Make Changes” and then “Edit Inquisitor.”
- Customize Appearance: Select “Appearance” and “Customize.”
- Make a Small Change: Adjust any minor detail, like hair color or a facial feature, to ensure the game recognizes your custom appearance.
- Accept Changes: Save your changes and note the new icon with a scissor symbol.
- Finalize Character Creation: Return to the “Finalize” menu, accept your changes, and proceed with the game.
Challenges and Limitations
While you can recreate your Inquisitor’s general look, there are some limitations:
- Not a Perfect Match: The Veilguard’s character creator doesn’t have all the same options as Inquisition. You might not find the exact same hairstyle or facial features.
- No World State Import: The Veilguard doesn’t use the Dragon Age Keep, so your choices from Inquisition won’t directly impact the world state.
- However, you can still define key decisions your Inquisitor made, which will influence some aspects of the story.
Why Recreate Your Inquisitor?
Even with these limitations, recreating your Inquisitor adds a personal touch to The Veilguard. It allows you to:
- Reconnect with a Beloved Character: Relive the nostalgia and continue your Inquisitor’s journey in a new context.
- Influence the Narrative: Your Inquisitor’s past choices will shape their interactions with other characters and influence certain events.
- Maintain Continuity: Create a sense of continuity between Inquisition and The Veilguard, bridging the gap between the two games.
The Veilguard: An Upcoming Episode
Although it’s entertaining to recreate your Inquisitor in The Veilguard, keep in mind that this is a brand-new tale with a brand-new lead character. Your Inquisitor will serve as a supporting character while Davrin Rook will take center stage. Accept the new journey and relish the chance to see a well-loved character again in a novel and fascinating setting.
