NHL Injury Updates and Roster Moves: Nichushkin, Broberg, and More

With roster changes and injuries affecting teams all across the league, the NHL season is still full of surprises. This is a summary of the most recent news:

The Return of Avalanche’s Nichushkin Is Near

Valeri Nichushkin, a forward for the Colorado Avalanche, has been cleared to practice with the team, which is fantastic news for fans.  Nichushkin, who has been out since October 21 due to a lower-body ailment, is anticipated to return to action on November 15.

The Avalanche’s offensive approach relies heavily on the 28-year-old winger, and his return will give them a much-needed boost.  Prior to the injury, Nichushkin participated in seven games, recording one goal and four assists.

Broberg of the Oilers Has a Setback

On the blue line, the Edmonton Oilers are facing a serious defeat.  Due to a lower-body injury he acquired during a game against the Nashville Predators, defenseman Philip Broberg is anticipated to miss four to six weeks of action.

With an average of more than 14 minutes of ice time each game, the 22-year-old Broberg was off to a good start this season.  The Oilers’ defensive depth will be compromised by his absence.

Connor of the Jets returns to the ice, and Veteran Johnson joins the Bruins.

Kyle Connor, a forward with the Winnipeg Jets, returned to practice after suffering an upper-body injury during Sunday’s game against the Chicago Blackhawks.  A key component of the Jets’ attack, Connor leads the team with 19 points in 13 games.  His decision to resume practicing is a positive sign for the Jets.

In other news, forward Tyler Johnson has signed a one-year contract with the Boston Bruins, adding some experienced expertise to their lineup.  Johnson, 33, will give the Bruins depth scoring since he has been playing effectively in the AHL this season.

Sabres’ Benson Is Considering a Comeback

Zach Benson, a rookie for the Buffalo Sabres, may soon return to action. Due to an upper-body ailment, the 19-year-old attacker has missed the last two games.  With three goals and three assists in ten games during his rookie NHL season, Benson has shown promise.
